God is the only one that can deliver us from suffering and danger. We must learn to depend on God in every area of life so that we can gratefully worship as we were made to even in suffering. Listen as Pastor Phil Moser teaches through Daniel chapter 6.

This week we wrapped up chapter 4 of Daniel by talking through some of the ways that pride can often become an a tolerated practice in our lives. These practices then lead to God's work of humbling us. Three causes for God's work of humiliation are self-righteousness, self-centeredness, and self-exaltation. In order to avoid humiliation, we are to practice humility in repentance. This is done by giving glory to the One who deserves it, acknowledging our own smallness, and practicing corporate praise.

In studying Daniel 4 we discover that when it comes to pride we often fluctuate between reality and elevated self importance. It is clear to see that prosperity is harder to live with than poverty. It is evident that God - in His grace - gives us ample warnings about the pride in our life. To combat this pride we need to recognize that the sovereignty of God is the great equalizer while also investing in the accountability of compassionate and truth-telling friends.

Standing for God in Our Bowing Culture is Possible When:

WE HAVE BIBLICALLY BASED CONVICTIONS

WHEN WE RELY ON THE ACCOUNTABILITIY OF CLOSE FRIENDSHIPS

WHEN WE TAKE COURAGE IN OPPOSITION

- In His wisdom: God know what the future holds (Dan. 2:20, 28)

- In His sovereignty, God moves leaders and nations for his purposes (Dan. 2:37)

- In His plan: God will set up a kingdom that will endure forever (2:44)

Your faith should OVERCOME YOUR FEAR (1:10), and ATTEMPT THINGS THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE without God (1:8,17)

This world's culture is looking to redefine your identity (1:7) and reshape your belief system (1:8).
